Conference Time!
Hi, I am Dr. Steve Yun and I am a board-certified dental anesthesiologist in Southern California.
February and March are especially busy for me as I have a number of medical conferences that I attend. The first was the Annual Patient Safety Movement Summit in February. The featured speaker was President Bill Clinton, who spoke about our push to have ZERO preventable deaths by 2020. I am pleased to announce that I was also selected as the California Regional Chair for the Patient Safety Movement Foundation, so I will be working actively to help promote our mission.
I also had the privilege of speaking at the Annual California Dental Society of Anesthesiology Meetings in Costa Mesa and San Jose. It was especially valuable to network with my fellow dental anesthesiologists, oral surgeons and dentists from around the state.
Finally, I spoke at the Western Society of Pediatric Dentistry Meeting in Las Vegas this past weekend. Pediatric dentists are the nicest group of people you can meet, and it was especially fun to meet new and old friends. I particularly enjoyed seeing the residents that I helped teach from Loma Linda University's School of Dentistry.
The cumulative result of attending all these conferences is that I am re-inspired by my colleagues and I keep up to date on the trends in dental anesthesia and patient safety. I also come away from the meetings with a renewed commitment to deliver the best and safest anesthetic experience for each and every patient. I am already looking forward to the next year's conferences!
